Stráž Pond in Pelhřimov

After eight months of construction work, we completed the comprehensive revitalization of Stráž Pond on the outskirts of Pelhřimov in the summer of 2023. We successfully integrated the sports, recreational, and natural functions of this popular leisure destination.

The renovation of the reservoir was approached comprehensively. We built a 1,300-meter-long path for cyclists and inline skaters with an asphalt concrete surface, which seamlessly and barrier-free connects the main points of interest around the pond. A new parking lot ensures convenient access. Visitors will appreciate several rest areas with beautiful views of the water and the surrounding area.

The project also includes a 250-meter-long boardwalk made of larch wood, which runs near the pond and is hidden beneath the tree canopy.

Leisure opportunities have also been expanded by two new piers—one for swimmers and one for small boats.

Near the dam, we constructed a 120-meter-long path on precast reinforced concrete sections anchored to micropiles.

The revitalization project emphasizes the sensitive integration of recreational elements into the natural environment. Individual structures (walkways, piers) are designed with respect for the overall appearance of the landscape and minimize visual impact. Natural materials and simple lines ideally complement the local genius loci.
