The long-planned reconstruction of the through road through the town of Kolinec has brought a change to the town in the form of a new roundabout, which replaced the original intersection to improve safety. The center of the new roundabout is adorned with a granite pyramid bearing the town’s coat of arms.
As part of the bypass reconstruction, new sidewalks, sewer lines, water mains, and street lighting were installed. In the direction of Sušice, a new gabion wall was built at the end of the reconstructed bypass to stabilize the nearby slope.
The construction of a new riverside promenade and a new bridge over Kalný Creek near the gas station also contributed to the revitalization of the town. Along the Baroque stone bridge, a new pedestrian footbridge was built in coordination with the National Heritage Institute, replacing the original, now inadequate footbridge. Interestingly, the beams for this footbridge were manufactured in Sweden.
