Construction of the D7 highway between the Knovíz interchange and the Slaný-West interchange is changing right before our eyes. And that is precisely why Transport Minister Ivan Bednárik and Radek Mátl, Director General of the Road and Motorway Directorate, came to the site today to see it for themselves. A future four-lane connection is gradually taking shape along the more than 6.5-kilometer-long section, which will significantly improve both traffic capacity and safety between Prague and northwestern Bohemia.

Looking at the construction site, it is clear to see how the work is progressing. We are working on the structural layers of the roadway; in some sections, we have already completed the first layer of asphalt and installed the drainage system. The main sewer line, connected to the drainage system, has also been completed.

At the same time, work on the bridge structures is continuing—the supporting structures are being completed, and work on the parapets and transition areas is underway. Meanwhile, earthwork and preparation of structural layers are taking place in various parts of the project, both on the main route and on related structures, including grade-separated interchanges.

The next milestone will come in the fall of 2026 with the opening of the left lane.

The project is being carried out by a consortium of SWIETELSKY and HERKUL.
