Our plant SPECIAL STRUCTURES recently completed a construction pit for a new hall for the thermal processing of rails in Třinec Ironworks.
The dimensions of the pit were approximately 30 x 100 m and a depth of up to 8 m. To secure it, we chose classic anchored negative bracing in combination with sprayed concrete and cable and rod anchors. This structure had to not only secure the walls of the excavation but also support the existing buildings where production was continuously taking place.
To increase the load-bearing capacity of the foundation, we proposed the installation of drilled micropiles, which halved the implementation time.
