Construction work on the modernization of the railway line in the section Karlštejn–Beroun is progressing at a rapid pace. And if everything goes according to plan, it will be completed this November – that is, 8 months earlier than originally planned.
We at Swieteláci have been working on this seven-kilometer section in a consortium since November 2023. We are completely reconstructing the railway superstructure and substructure, bridges, and culverts. At the Srbsko station, we have modernized both platforms, including access paths and a new information system. A new switch has been created to ensure smoother and more regular operations.
All work during the reconstruction was carried out without complete interruption of service, without outages – trains always ran on at least one track. Thanks to the implemented measures, we allowed passing trains to travel at a speed of 80 km/h (instead of the usual 50 km/h), thereby minimizing the impact of construction on the regularity of transport.
