Hořovice Eastern Bypass

As of yesterday afternoon, the Hořovice Eastern Bypass is fully operational. With the ceremonial opening of the final section of the project—the roundabout near Kaufland—we have made the entire 1.4-kilometer route available to drivers and eliminated the long-standing detour toward Lochovice. For Hořovice, this is a project that locals have been waiting for many years. The new road diverts through traffic away from residential areas and significantly relieves congestion in the town center.

The project includes four roundabouts, two bridges on the main route, and a pedestrian bridge connecting the residential area with the Bažantnice forest park.

Like any construction project, this one had its share of surprises. During construction, we had to deal with a high water table as well as three exploratory boreholes up to 25 meters deep, which were not included in the original documentation at all. The project was also affected by the relocation of high-voltage power lines and the relocation of transformer stations.

We carried out the construction as a consortium of contractors. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the project, as well as the residents of Hořovice for their patience during construction. We hope that the new road will serve the community well for many years to come and, above all, contribute to safer and smoother traffic in the region.
