We welcomed students from the local Secondary Technical School of Civil Engineering to the construction site of the I/20 České Budějovice Northern Bypass. The field trip offered them a unique opportunity to gain insight into real-world practice and learn about the construction of one of the region’s key transportation projects.

The excursion began with a brief welcome and mandatory safety briefing, after which the group headed straight into the heart of the construction site. Walking through such a large-scale project, observing the ongoing work up close, and seeing how different trades and teams coordinate their efforts was an experience for the students—and often a source of motivation.

Such field trips offer students a valuable “window into the practical world” of construction. Thanks to this firsthand experience, they can better navigate the possibilities of their future careers or make informed decisions about further studies. We view organizing field trips to construction sites as a natural and important part of our long-term collaboration with schools. They give students a more concrete idea of the field they are studying, and they give us the opportunity to showcase our expertise, technical capabilities, and, last but not least, the fact that construction is a modern, dynamic, and promising field.

We believe that our work has captured the students’ interest. We look forward to welcoming them to our team in the future!
