Awards for Two of Our Projects

We are delighted by the success of two projects in which our teams played a part.

The project “Extension of the Navigability of the Otrokovice–Rohatec Waterway; Rohatec Lock and Sudoměřice Weir,” carried out by a consortium of SWIETELSKY and Metrostav CZ, won the grand prize in the “Water Transport and Water Management Structures” category at the Czech Transport Construction & Technology 2025 competition. It also received the Stavitel Magazine Award.

Another award went to the Zlín Region. The Bedlina biathlon trails in Bystřice pod Hostýnem received an honorable mention in the 2026 Zlín Region Construction of the Year competition.

At first glance, the two projects seem very different, yet they have much in common. The Baťa Canal is a project of exceptional regional significance—it extends the navigability of the waterway, connects locations along the Morava River, and opens up new opportunities for tourism and recreation. The Bedlina Biathlon Trails, in turn, provide modern sports facilities for training, competitions, and public recreational activities in the Hostýn Hills region.

Behind both projects lies technically demanding work, the coordination of many professions, and the dedication of people who were able to transform project plans into high-quality results.

We would like to thank all our colleagues who contributed to these construction projects. Our thanks also go to the investors, designers, and partners, without whose cooperation these projects could not have been realized. This recognition is the collective result of the hard work of everyone involved.
